Supplies Needed

Only a few supplies have been used by the designer to crochet this heart amigurumi that she has described below:

  • Cotton yarn (The designer used Schachenmayr Catania "Original" in red (115), and white (106). You can also use other types and weights of yarn.
  • 2.5 mm hook
  • Stuffing
  • Yarn needle

Crochet Wings Heart Amigurumi Pattern

This step-by-step pattern written by the designer will guide you all for crocheting this heart amigurumi and its wings. Since it is not a class, you should have practiced the stitches described below as well as on sewing:

Abbreviations

Not very advanced stitches and crochet techniques will be needed for crocheting this amigurumi heart. However, you should be aware of the abbreviation meanings that the designer used in this pattern:

  • ch - chain
  • Sc - single crochet
  • inc - increase dec-decrease
  • slst - slip stitch
  • FO - fasten off

Body

Use red (115) yarn.

  • Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
  • Rnd 2: (inc) x6 [12]
  • Rnd 3: (inc, sc) x6 [18] Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x6 [24]
  • Rnd 5-6: sc around [24], 2 rounds
  • Finish the first piece of the heart. Don't cut the yarn of the second piece. Lay your two pieces together (fig 1).
  • Then insert your hook in the next stitch (after finishing) of first piece [fig 2), pick up the yarn of the second piece and pull it through.
  • Now our two pieces are connected. Make a single crochet stitch. It will be the first stitch of round 7. Put your stitch marker here.

  • Rnd 7: two pieces together: 24 sc around first piece, 24 sc around second piece [48] Rnd
  • 8-10: sc around [48], 3 rounds
  • Rnd 11: [dec, 6 sc) x6, (fig 3) [42]
  • Rnd 12: sc around [42]
  • Rnd 13: [dec, 5 sc) x6 [36]
  • Rnd 14: sc around [36]
  • Rnd 15: [dec, 4 sc) x6 [30]
  • Rnd 16: sc around [30]
  • Rnd 17: [dec, 3 sc) x6 [24] Start to stuff the heart
  • Rnd 18: sc around [24]
  • Rnd 19: [dec, 2 sc) x6 [18]
  • Rnd 20: sc around [18]
  • Rnd 21: [dec, sc) x6 [12]
  • Rnd 22: sc around [12]
  • Stuff the heart firmly (fig 4).
  • Cut the yarn, and leave a tail for closing the opening.
  • How to close the end of the round: with a darning needle, insert the remaining yarn through all the front loops of the stitches of the last round. Pull them all together at once and sew to hide the yarn inside the part you are working on.

Use white (106) yarn.

  • Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
  • Rnd 2: (inc) x6 [12]
  • Rnd 3: (inc, sc) x6 [18]
  • Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x6 [24]
  • Rnd 5: (inc, 3 sc) x6 [30]
  • Crochet 2 chains (fig 5). Start in second chain from the hook: slip stitch in this chain (fig 6). It would be a first feather.
  • Then fold the circle in half and make a slip stitch in next stitch (across two stitches) (fig 7). Crochet 2 chain, start in second chain from the hook: slip stitch in this chain (fig 8). Repeat this step 13 times more.
  • You should have 14 (15) feathers.
