Materials
- Cotton yarn Ricorumi (orange, blue, pink, white)
- Black embroidery thread
- Crochet hook 3 mm
- Safety eyes 6 mm
- Yarn needle
- Fiberfill for stuffing
- Stitch marker
- Scissors

Step by step Pattern
The crab is crocheted in two parts: the high part (head) and the low part (overalls)
Head
- In orange.
- Make a ch 15. Crochet around the ch, starting in 2nd ch from hook.
- Rnd 1: 13 sc, 3 sc in last ch, 12 sc, inc [30]

- Rnd 2 2 inc [36]
- Rnd 3:1 sc, inc, 12 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 3, 12 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2 [42]
- Rnd 4: 2 sc, inc, 12 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 3, 12 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 2 [48]
- Rnd 5:3 sc, inc, 12 sc, (3 sc, inc) x 3, 12 sc, (3 sc, inc) x 2 [54]
- Rnd 6 4 sc, inc, 12 sc, (4 sc, inc) x 3, 12 sc, (4 sc, inc) x 2 [60] Rnd 7 - 14: 60 sc [60]
- Fasten off, leaving a long thread for sewing to the low part (overalls).
Overalls
- In blue.
- Repeat Rnds 1 to 6 or the head. Rnd 7-13 60 sc [60]
- Rnd 14: FLO - 60 sc [60] Rnd 15: 60 sc [60]
- Fasten off and hide the thread.
- Sew the head to the overalls, using back loops of Rnd 13. Stuff before closing.
- Take the blue thread at the back, make a ch 22 and attach to the front with a sl st (adjust the lengh if necessary).
Front claws
- In orange.
- Start with the small part.
- Rnd 1: MR, 4 sc [4]
- Rnd 2 (1 sc, inc)* [6]
- Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc)* [8]
- Rnd 4: 8 sc [8] Stuff.
- Fasten off.
- Now, make the big part.
- Rnd 1: MR, 4 sc [4]
- Rnd 2 (1 sc, inc)* [6]
- Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc)* [8]
- Rnd 4 (3 sc, inc)* [10]
- Rnd 5: (2 sc, inc)* [12]
- Rnd 6 - 8:12 sc [12]
- Stuff.
- Rnd 9: join to the small with 1 sc, 7 sc in the remaining stitches, 12 sc on the big part [20]
- Rnd 10: 20 sc [20]
- Rnd 11: (2 sc, dec)* [15]
- Rnd 12: (3 sc, dec)* [12]
- Rnd 13 (2 sc, dec)* [9]
- Rnd 14 - 15:9 sc [9]
- Add some stitches so that the round finishes on the right side and that both claws are at the same height. Stuff. Fasten off, leaving thread for sewing.
Side claws
- In orange.
- For each side, make 4 claws as follows:
- Rnd 1: MR, 4 sc [4]
- Rnd 2 (1 sc, inc)* [6]
- Rnd 3-5: 6 sc [6]
- Fasten off 3 claws, but not the 4th. The claws are all joined together.
- After Rnd 5, continue 3 sc on the 4th claw,
- Join to the 3rd claw with 1 sc, then crochet 2 sc
- Join to the 2nd claw with 1 sc, then crochet 2 sc
- Join to the 1st claw with 1 sc,
- then crochet 5 sc all around to continue on the other side, and crochet: 3 sc in 2nd claw, 3 sc in 3rd claw, 3 sc in 4th claw.
- Fasten off, leaving a long thread for sewing.
Eyes (x2)
- In white. Make 2.
- Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc [6], don't tight
- the MR too much.
- Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc)* [9]
- Rnd 3: 9 sc [9], 1 sl st. Fasten off.
- Insert the security eyes in the center of the MR.
In orange. Make 2.
- Rnd 1: MR, 8 sc [8]
- Rnd 2: (3 sc, inc)* [10]
- Rnd 3: 10 sc [10]
- Rnd 4: FLO - 10 sc [10]
- Fasten off, leaving a long thread for sewing.
- Insert the white part inside. Sew both parts together, then sew the eye to the head.
