How To Crochet Poke Ball Amigurumi Pattern For Beginners

How To Crochet Poke Ball Amigurumi Pattern

Poke Ball

Materials Needed:

  • 4 mm crochet hook
  • Red, white, and black yarn
  • Polyester stuffing (polyfill)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker (optional, you can use a piece of scrap yarn)

Pattern:

Red Half:

  • Start with red yarn.
  • Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 single crochets (sc) (6 sts)
  • Round 2: Increase (2 sc in each st) around (12 sts)
  • Round 3: 1 sc, increase repeat around (18 sts)
  • Round 4: 2 sc, increase repeat around (24 sts)
  • Round 5: 3 sc, increase repeat around (30 sts)
  • Rounds 6-8: 1 sc in each st around (30 sts for three rounds)
  • Tie off the red and switch to black yarn.

Black Center Band:

  • Round 9: With black yarn, 1 sc in each st around (30 sts)
  • Tie off and weave in the ends.

White Half:

  • Rounds 10-11: With white yarn, 1 sc in each st around (30 sts for two rounds)

Decrease for Shape:

  • Round 12: 3 sc, decrease repeat around (24 sts)
  • Round 13: 2 sc, decrease repeat around (18 sts)
  • Round 14: 1 sc, decrease repeat around (12 sts)
  • Stuff the Poke Ball with polyfill at this point.
  • Round 15: Decrease around (6 sts)
  • Tie off, leaving a tail. Weave the tail through the front loops of remaining 6 stitches, pull tight to close the hole, and weave in the end.

Button (Black Part):

  • Start with black yarn.
  • Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 sc (6 sts)
  • Round 2: Increase around (12 sts)
  • Tie off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Button (White Part):

  • With white yarn, repeat the same steps as for the black button.
  • Round 1: Make a magic ring with 6 sc (6 sts)
  • Round 2: Increase around (12 sts)
  • Tie off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

How To Crochet Poke Ball

Assembly:

  • Sew the black part of the button onto the white part of the button.
  • Attach the entire button to the center of the white half of the Poke Ball, covering the color change line.

Finishing:

  • Make sure all the ends are weaved in and the button is securely attached.
  • You may want to add more or adjust the stuffing to maintain the shape of the Poke Ball.
