Making Your Crochet Dachshund

Yarn:

  • Sport weight/4ply yarn: This is a thin and lightweight yarn, ideal for creating small projects like amigurumi.
  • Yarn Art Jeans: This is a specific brand of sport-weight yarn, but you can substitute it with any other sport-weight yarn if it has a similar weight and gauge.
  • Color:
    • No.70 brown (main): This is the main color used for the dachshund's body.
    • No.53 black (nose, dog collar): This is used for smaller details like the nose and collar.
  • Material:
    • Cotton 55%: This provides breathability and absorbency to the finished product.
    • Acrylic 45%: This adds durability and softness.

Hook:

  • Size No. 1.6: This hook size is recommended for the yarn weight and gauge specified in the pattern.

Other Materials:

  • Toy filling: Any stuffing used for amigurumi toys.
  • Eyes: 6 mm half beads are used for the eyes, but you can also use safety eyes for a safer alternative.
  • Button: A small black button to fasten the dog collar.
  • Glue: Likely used to secure the button on the collar.
  • Scissors and needle: Standard tools for cutting yarn and sewing pieces together.

  • MR: Magic ring (used to start crocheting in the round without a hole)

ASSEMBLY

ASSEMBLY
Sew the head through both loops of the last round of the neck. Add fiberfill to the neck before closing the hole. Fix the thread, cut and hide.
Sew two legs with the remaining thread from the other two legs. Use a thread mount to make the legs movable. Pierce the needle through two legs and the body. Repeat several times and tighten the thread so that the legs do not dangle. Sew the forelegs between rounds 8 and 9. Hind legs - between rounds 34 and 35.
Sew the tail to the edge of the back in a circle through both loops of the last round.

ASSEMBLY 1
ASSEMBLY
Sew the ears slightly obliquely with the wide part on the top. Start to sew along the top. Then fix the part of the ear under the half loops in front of the head (about 2 cm from the top), so that they do not stick out but hang. Glue eyes in rounds 10-11 at a distance of 3 sc between the inner edges. Put on the dog collar. AND THAT'S ALL!!!
