Materials Needed:

  • Yellow, black, and white yarn

  • Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
  • 8mm safety eyes
  • Tapestry needle

Body:

  1. Magic Ring: 5 single crochet in magic ring, then slip stitch to close.
  2. Round 1: 6 single crochet in magic ring [6 stitches total]
  3. Round 2: 6 increase (2 single crochet in each stitch around) [12]
  4. Round 3: (1 single crochet, 1 increase) repeat 6 times [18]
  5. Round 4: (1 single crochet, 1 increase, 1 single crochet) repeat 6 times [24]
  6. Round 5: (3 single crochet, 1 increase) repeat 6 times [30]
  7. Round 6-7: 30 single crochet (one single crochet in each stitch around) [30]
  8. Round 8: (2 single crochet, 1 increase, 2 single crochet) repeat 6 times [36]
  9. Round 9-10: 36 single crochet (one single crochet in each stitch around) [36]Change to black yarn

Crochet Bumblebee Amigurumi

  1. Round 11: 36 single crochet [36]
  2. Round 12: (2 single crochet, 1 decrease, 2 single crochet) repeat 6 times [30]
  3. Round 13: 30 single crochet [30]Change to yellow yarn
  4. Round 14: 30 single crochet [30]
  5. Round 15: (3 single crochet, 1 decrease) repeat 6 times [24]
  6. Round 16: (1 single crochet, 1 decrease, 1 single crochet) repeat 6 times [18]
  7. Round 17: (1 single crochet, 1 decrease) repeat 6 times [12]
  8. Round 18: 6 decrease [6]

Before closing, Insert eyes between Round 8 and 9, making sure they are 5 stitches apart. Fill your Amigurumi with stuffing before fully closing. Fasten off, and weave in any loose ends.

Wings (Make 2):

  1. 8 single crochet in magic ring, then 2 single crochet in the next stitch. Close and leave a long tail for sewing onto the body.

Assembly:

  • Attach the safety eyes between Round 8 and 9 of the body.
  • Sew the wings onto either side of the body at rounds 8 and 9.
